From Rob: “I was on this keel kick with Go Fish keels a couple years ago, and then recently into the Seaside Quad fins which had some keel vibes to them. I basically split apart the surface area of a keel fin to make the Seaside quad set. Keel fins have been influencing me for a long time.
This new thruster set with FUTURES is my evolution of a keel fin into a thruster with a keel vibe.
It feels kind of weird to say that because each of the three fins in the thruster set don’t look like keel fins, but they’re much shorter than a traditional modern thruster set, and they’re much wider at the base than a traditional modern thruster set.
Each of the fins in this new thruster set keeps the same surface area that you’d ride in your normal thruster fins, the surface area is just placed differently to create something new and unique that I really like; a lot more drive than normal when doing cutbacks (something I love from keel fins) and turns, and also a lot more release in the lip (something I like thrusters for).
I’m really stoked on how these feel in The Glazer and my other boards. I’ve been riding these thruster fins with the Glazer throughout the R and D process, and over the past several months since the board was released.”
FUTURES FINS ROB MACHADO KEEL TWIN FIN SET
The Rob Machado Keel is Rob’s preferred template for his Go Fish model. The template is retro in style and works great for riders of all sizes. Riders can expect long drawn out turns, and great speed down the line. The Honeycomb construction is wrapped in a black exterior graphic and cosmic inner graphic.
FCS II ROB MACHADO SEASIDE QUAD FIN SET - BLACK
The Seaside Quad is Rob Machado’s first signature FCS II fin template. Designed specifically for his Seaside model, this semi-keel + stabilizer offers the flow of a traditional twin fish with the control of a performance quad setup. Overall this set has lots of surface area offering a trustworthy feel with an underlying level of response and performance.
The side fins produce an abundance of drive and forward acceleration. The small trailer fins (quad rears) allow you to break the line and turn in a tight arc when the wave presents steeper and more critical opportunities.
Ideally suited to smaller, weaker waves, this set is adaptable to many higher volume hybrid surfboard models.
